Kim Goldberg

Artist and designer Kim Goldberg works in mixed media — most recently ink and watercolor paintings. She is a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute with a focus in sculpture and new genres art.

An experimental, conceptual artist, Kim’s practice is characterized by an openness to new approaches to form authentic expressions. This ongoing exploration of materials and visual language investigates identity, modes of communication and the spiritual — a process that emphasizes the importance of imperfection as a way of moving forward and challenging established structures. Her work hovers between chance and choice, materiality and intangibility.

Kim’s use of instinct and collaboration with materials have been a constant of her work; her most recent series pairs water, time, ink, watercolor, paper and alternative substructures to create unique visual expressions. The interplay between the body and mind inspire her to examine incorporeal connections by employing loose brushwork, gesture, push and pull, dripping, expressions of personality, and innovative symbols and composition styles.

Kim has exhibited in solo and group shows in San Francisco, Omaha, Haifa, Israel, Fort Worth and Dallas, TX. She participated in the 2009 and 2012 Israeli Festival for Alternative Theater in Akko Israel, co-creating multimedia dance and video performances with Israeli dancers, which toured in the U.S. at Ballet Austin and in Europe at the Israeli Cultural Institute in Budapest. In January 2013, she exhibited a series of 70 paintings on paper at the Haifa Rappaport Arts Center, Haifa, Israel. In 2018 she had a solo show of her Texas Sky Series artwork in Fort Worth, TX. Kim is the co-founder and seven-time participant of the Partnership2Gether Artist in Residence exchange program and co-founder and co-champion of the Create2Gether Program between the Western Galilee, US Central Area Consortium and Budapest, Hungary.

An active volunteer, Kim also has 29 years of professional work as a Senior Design Consultant, Senior Art Director and has run her own graphic design business the past 14 years. She currently lives in Omaha, NE with her husband.
